What We Do
S K Oil Terminals Pvt Ltd is a bulk liquid warehousing company, based out of Kolkata, India. In
operation since 1972, we have been a market leader in the Eastern region, with the largest
storage capacity (approx. 1.4 lac KL), storing various categories of liquid for a range of
renowned clients – Reliance, Tide Water, Kunjal, Nayara amongst others. S K Oil was the the
first private firm in India to store Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) and to be awarded and certified as
ISO-9001:2000 in the Tank Terminal category, and has since then retained its position in the
industry as a reliable and sustainable storage solution provider, with state of the art
infrastructure.
Strategic Positioning
S K Oil’s terminal is located at the riverine port of Budge Budge, West Bengal. Situated on the
eastern banks of the Hooghly River, the terminal is covered by the Kolkata Metropolitan
Development Authority, and well connected by road and rail, serving as the storage solution for
the Eastern region and gateway to the northeast as well as the land locked country of Nepal.
Drafts are dependent on Bore Tide at the Budge Budge Port. Detailed forecasts for the month can
be found here. However, minimum available draft is 6 metres.

- We are connected to Jetty Nos. 5, 7 & 8, with least distance of 750 m from Jetty No.8 and furthest distance of 1.1 km from Jetty No. 5.
- We can undertake receipts simultaneously from all three jetties.
- Short distance between the terminal and the jetties and direct pipeline connectivity to the storage tanks ensures quick discharge of the vessel, thereby avoiding demurrage charges.
- With 6 dedicated pipelines, one 10” diameter, four 8” diameter, and one 6” diameter, we can receive 25,000 tonnes of product per day. The 10” and two of the 8” diameter pipelines are dedicated for White Oil / Petrochemicals, while the other two 8” pipelines are for Lube Oil and Edible Oil respectively. The 6” pipeline remains as a stand-by for any emergencies.
- Vessel receipt lines are emptied out through air pigging or nitrogen purging, as required.
As the largest liquid warehousing facility in Eastern India, we have 28 storage tanks of various capacities ranging from 800 KL to 10,000 KL. Few of the tanks are epicoated, enabling us to store sensitive products like Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). Two of the tanks have Internal Floating Roof (IFR) provisions to allow for storage of highly inflammable products like Motor Spirit (MS) / Naphtha. We also have the infrastructure designed specially to store products like Acids in a few of the tanks.

- We have dedicated High Power Pumps & Motors with FLP systems enabling quicker operations and safe delivery of highly sensitive / inflammable products.
- Our terminal can accommodate 150 tank lorries for delivery per day.
- Our modern Tank Lorry Filling Gantry with 14 bays includes loading flow meters, can handle a daily maximum of 3,000 KL.
- All the loading points are connected with loading arms and delivery meters to ensure safe and accurate delivery of the product to tank lorries.
